For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. Psalm 91:11
When I look at the sky and stare at the cirrus clouds ( the light wispy clouds) I often wonder if that is where angels have flown. These clouds are separated and the spaces between them are where I imagine the angels they have flown.
The Lord's angels are spiritual divine beings who excel in strength and take heed to the instruction of God's voice. They are His personal messengers that display His power outside of the heavenly realms. God has given them the ability to protect us from harm and they have been given charge over us. It is a beautiful thing to know that they protect us wherever we go.
There are many stories about angels and how they've saved someone's life. Many people have seen them during times of near death experiences or other difficult situations. I have never seen an angel, but I believe I have had encounters with them. A couple of months after my cousin died and I lost a friend just a little over a month later whom I had known for about thirty years. There was a light on the wall that was flickering and slowly moving back and forth. As I stared at the light I could picture Buff laughing and Betsy smiling. I felt so much comfort while this was happening I cried tears of joy. I have a few other stories, but I think the best stories are in the Bible.
I think the best story about an angel is found in the book of Daniel. This is because God or maybe one of His angels walk through the fire with us. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow down to the gold statue that Nebuchadezzer had made and set up for people to worship. This caused Nebuchadezzer to become so furious with rage he ordered them to be thrown into the fiery furnace. In anger he commanded that the fire be heated seven times hotter than usual. It was so hot that the flames killed his soldiers who threw the three men in.
Suddenly Nebuchadnezzer saw four people walking around unharmed. Then he called them out of the fire. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire people standing them saw that the fire had not touched them. They didn't even smell of smoke! Then Nebuchadnezzer said, "Praise be to God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent His angel to rescue His servants who trusted in Him.
In Jerusalem by the sheep gate there is a pool called Bethesda which has five porches. Multitudes of people who are sick, blind, lame, or paralyzed would lay there waiting for the water to be moved. An angel would go down at a certain time into the pool and stir up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well.
(John 5:2-4)
There are many other messages in the Bible about angels and also I found an interesting read by the angel writer explaining how we can see that angels have been near to us here on earth. Today if you get the chance listen to "Angels Watching Over Me" by Amy Grant. This song is about Peter who was in prison and the angel set him free.
Hebrews 13:2
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Good Morning Friend! Loved your photo with your writing today.
I always think about the faith they must have had to go against the king and know they were going to be thrown into the fiery furnace.
Thank you for writing today and challenging us to think about the heavenly realm🥰🙏🏽
