I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure. Psalm 119:162
This morning I read that we should rejoice while suffering in all kinds of trials. Honestly at that point all I could say was "I am trying." Then I read a devotional Grief Survivor. After that I started reading a devotional Love Be the Loudest. I had already asked God to help me write today and while I was reading about love I started writing about love. I am working on writing a Bible study about getting to know the love of God.
Did you notice where God has taken me this morning? He saw me when I was feeling down. He heard me when I said I am trying. God knew deep in my heart I was desperate for Him. God took me from a place of sadness to rejoicing in His Word. I wish you could see the smile on my face right now. If you find yourself suffering while going through a trial. My suggestion is open up your Bible and read it. We can still rejoice in the Word of God.
This is what I love about reading God's love letter to us. Whatever we may be going through the love of God is always available to us, as a matter of fact God's love always surrounds us. When you start reading about the love of God you can't help but to feel the love of God. That is how powerful His Word is. God responds to those who seek Him. In fact, "He rewards those who diligently seek Him." The more I seek God and read His Word we become closer and our relationship grows stronger. Our bond of love is intimate. This alone is rewarding enough for me.
The Bible is full of God's promises which are in the thousands. We learn that sometimes we need to wait patiently for God's promises, to be fulfilled. When we believe in the Word of God it gives us hope to never give up and encourages us to keep running the race. He teaches us how to live long healthy lives. God teaches us to live in harmony with one another and how to love others well.
Father God,
You bless me more than I could ever imagine. When I need you (all the time) you are always there for me. Your Word is alive and active changing my heart to follow you. God I thank you for saving my life and transforming me. I thank you for my faith that continues to grow. I will always enjoy reading Your Word that teaches me about your love. Help me to teach others.
Your Word reveals so much information and even when we reread the Bible You reveal even more. You are my Father who has taken such good care of me and always will. Your love is more precious than any treasure known to man. This is why I rejoice in Your Word. I love you with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind, and all my strength. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
