Unqualified

Colossians 1:12 is a reminder I need today, The Father has qualified you(and me).

Today I am going to be real with you. I often wake up and even though it is hard to sit here daily and write I do my best to do it anyway. Wow! Now there's an idea. If we feel unqualified let's make a pact to do it anyway. I was supposed to write a book and a thirty day devotional, but I resisted and I didn't discipline myself to do so. I felt like a failure especially when others would ask me, How is the book coming?

I have not written the book or the devotional. and now I am struggling with this blog every now and then. It appears that I am a person who starts something and without finishing move on to something else. Yes, you would be correct. This is something I am currently working on. It is not easy for me to write everyday because I find myself overthinking everything. So as I sit and think about what to write sometimes an hour or so has already passed me by. I know that God is going to make a way for me to publish a book and the devotional because I have had visions about this (which hypes me up to keep pressing on).I also know why I am now writing a blog and that is because of my lack of discipline. I got hit with these signs to just write thirty minutes a day. Easier said than done. After all these are people who are already published authors. For now I am just trying to write daily even though I fail at times I need to keep going.

We all have those moments where we feel unqualified, don't we? Most of the time we feel like we aren't qualified especially when we step into a new chapter of life. The truth is sometimes we aren't qualified. God doesn't call the qualified. He qualifies the called. Isn't that great news! If we meet with God and tell Him about our weakness, He is able to strengthen us. If we tell Him we have failed (and we will), He picks us up and shows us His grace and mercy. If we sin, He tells us that our sins are forgiven. If we fall short, He tells us we aren't the only one; all have fallen short of the glory of God.

If you feel unqualified I want to encourage you today. If you don't feel like you measure up then you are probably right where you need to be. This means that God is not done with you and is working on your behalf right now as we speak. God is on the move and wants you to know that He had a plan for you long before you were born and He knows how it will end. My friends it will end with greatness! If we rise up and do our part the Lord will help us to finish strong.
