For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our everlasting home in heaven. With Jesus' help we will continually offer our sacrifice of praise to God by telling others of the glory of his name. Don't forget to do good and share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to him. Hebrews 13:14-16
I remember a time when I thought Christians were crazy when they said, "I can't wait to go home and be with Jesus." They would say this with so much enthusiasm like it was the best thing that would ever happen to them. I would just stand back and think why would someone look forward to dying. Never really thinking about the part to be with Jesus.
Although I spent many years turning my back on God; once I asked Him to be my Lord and Savior everything changed. I realized this is not our home and along with those people I thought were crazy I look forward to being in heaven with my Father. Our life will end here on earth, but this is only the beginning of the eternal life that He has so graciously given us.
While we are here we should tell others how Jesus can save their life and give all the glory to God when He showers us with His unfailing love, mercy, and His amazing grace that saved a wretch like us. We should praise Him in the storm and put our hope in the gift of salvation that we will be united with our loved one's that have passed on before us, but more importantly we will live forever in heaven and see Jesus face to face. All our sins will be forgiven and there will be no more tears or pain.
While we are here we need to show others how much we love them and make sacrifices to help them when they are in need. God wants us to have the best life and gives us so much more than we deserve. He blesses us with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. All these things God gives us should overflow into the lives of those we love.
Father God,
I want to thank you for being so patient and giving us the chance to always turn back to you when we have strayed away. I thank you for holding onto us tightly when we run back into your arms. You will leave the ninety-nine to go after one that has strayed away. Help us to reach others and tell them of the good news about you so no one is left behind. In Jesus' Name I Pray, Amen.
