The Armor of God

Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-11

The belt of truth: The devil likes to whisper lies into our ears and it might even sound like the truth. He can be very deceiving at times, but focus on the truth. The truth is God's word being breathed on us through His word. The truth is we have the Holy Spirit living inside us. The truth is God is always protecting us and fighting for us. God's truth is the way we can defeat the lies.

The breastplate of righteousness: We are seen as righteous through the eyes of God. The breastplate guards our heart, our feelings, and our self worth. This is knowing that God can take a cold hard heart and cleanse it. We learn that we don't live by our feelings. We also become confident and see our self worth is so much more than we thought.

The shoes of peace: The shoes help us to stand firm and step into the unknown with peace. We are able to face the storms because of God's peace. When we have the peace of God we are ready to keep moving forward with confidence while spreading the word.

The shield of faith: The shield of faith protects us from the fiery darts which are set backs, temptations, and anything else that will keep us from moving forward. This shield of faith will extinguish everything that comes against us.

The helmet of salvation: The devil wants us to question our salvation. He enters our thought process and tries to convince us to doubt God. The helmet guards our thoughts, our mouth, our eyes, and our ears. It help us to remember salvation can never be taken away.

The sword of the Spirit: The sword is our only weapon so it is important to know how to use it properly. The sword is the word of God which is used to fight the devil. This is why we need to learn the word of God because this is needed as we fight in spiritual warfare.
