The tongue is very small and is needed so that we can speak. It is also one of the most powerful muscles in our body. Our tongue is used to speak life or death.
What are you speaking into your life? I hope you are speaking life and not death! Even when things are bad and we focus on our problems rather than the good we usually speak of all the bad in our life. We should change our way of thinking and focus on the good at all times. This will produce a positive way of speaking and it will turn everything around.
I am here today to inform you that your situation becomes what you speak. The tongue is very powerful and we have the ability to speak things into existence good or bad. Speak of things as though they should be not as they are when going through a trial.
The word says: " those who love it will eat its fruits." If we guard our tongue we will guard our life. We will eat the fruit of wisdom! When we learn the habit of thinking before we speak this is a wise decision. We learn to speak with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control which are the fruits of the Spirit.
Remember the saying, "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me?" I disagree with that because words can be very hurtful. Once broken bones heal we soon forget about it. However, words that have hurt us is something we always remember. I remember the last words I said to my dad "I hate you and wish you were dead." I never got a chance to apologize for those words. I have been told, "You will never amount to anything." These are probably the most hurtful words and they can't be taken back once you speak them.
