Send Me

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send. And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV)

I believe most of us ask God to show us what to do and where to go. Then we seem to freeze up when he answers. I believe the excuse we use the most is we are afraid to go where He tells us to go. More than likely we will need to make a sacrifice which causes us to hesitate. This is because we all too often want the blessings, but we don't want to give anything up. Another reason is if we make the choice to go we will need to step out of our comfort zone. We all love our comfort zone don't we? There are times like Isaiah we feel like we are undone or unclean. Therefore we don't feel deserving enough to be used by God.

God doesn't always use the people you think He would. Look at the disciples for instance. He chose twelve people to follow Him that no man would ever choose. God uses the broken hearted, the outcast, the sinners, the unqualified, and those are afraid. We can do nothing without God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. When God uses us to do something for Him we should feel honored to do so and all the Glory be to God.

Whether we like it or not we should obey the Lord our God and do what He says to do. We should be willing to go wherever He tells us to go. I know at times this will be challenging. I also know that the Lord has already gone before us and prepared the way. God has the best plan for our lives and will always work everything for our good. If you really want to be used by God then ready yourselves to the best of your ability and He will do the rest. This way the next time God tells you to do something or go somewhere you be able to boldly say, "Here I am. Send me."
