Arise! Shine! Your light has come; the Lord's glory has shone upon you. Isaiah 60:1 (CEB)
I want to tell you about the lesson I recently learned. I haven't written in a while because I was chasing after worldly things. To be honest I was going to lie in order to get what I wanted and asked a friend to lie for me as well. Long story short this brought nothing but chaos into my life. I apologized to my friend and told her I can't represent God and shine for others to see if I am being corrupt.
God brought this to my attention along with the above verse about a month ago. I am now back on track and never want to encounter anything like this ever again. After all, I learned that I was not being attacked by the devil as some would say, but I brought all of the hardship upon myself. This is embarrassing to admit and most people would probably have left this out. Thank God He changed my heart and actions before things really got out of control.
Now that the hard part of admitting my wrong doing is over it is time to move on. God wants us to arise and that may seem difficult at times. When we are caught in the pit of despair, depression, anger, or hopelessness God always makes a way for us to rise up out of our circumstances whatever they may be. He is the lifter of our head and pulls us up to stand firm so we can shine despite what we are going through.
This is how this is possible. Your light has come; the light that shines in the darkness. When you are in the darkness look up and expect to receive the Lord's glory that shines upon you. This really speaks to my heart because no matter what we are going through God's glory is upon us. When we rise He gives us the ability to shine through our own times of darkness.
The glory of God is so much more than the light that He shines for all to see. The glory of God is who He is. It is every bit of His goodness and His magnificent qualities. This includes all of His characteristics; the very nature of God. God's glory so graciously gives us the opportunity of being in His presence. His glory demonstrates the power of all His good works. God's glory is all of Him being poured out on us giving us the desire to change as He performs by His power our transformation.
Arise! Shine! Your light has come, the Lord's glory has shone upon you. His glory shines everywhere at all times. With all of God being poured out on us along with the Spirit of the Lord working within us, we should shine brightly as a reflection of God's glory.
When we think about His glory rather than what we are going through it changes everything.
This was so beautiful! I love this scripture. we sing it all the time. God’s Glory is upon us and we should take time to remember to worship Him for it! He is our prize and there is nothing in this world that can compare to Him!
