Putting God First

Everyone has a morning routine and it changes from time to time or at least mine does. This morning I woke up at 1:00 and spent some time with God. We talked for awhile and before I realized it it had been over an hour. I got up to make coffee and then grabbed my phone to read a devotion. What a great morning! The excitement for this day to start and knowing this time was well spent preparing me for what lies ahead.

I took the time to share with you what this morning was like for me because it was an extraordinary morning. We all know we should put God first. Right!? Do we? Well, I have to say I am currently working on this. I can't tell you the last time I really had a good heart to heart talk with God like I did this morning. Most mornings I get up and grab a cup of coffee to get me going and then read a devotion. This sounds good right? I don't want to settle for good anymore. I want my life to be extraordinary! I want your life to be extraordinary.

Each morning we should start our day just like Jesus did! Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went to an isolated place to pray (Mark1:35, NLT). Praying to God first thing in the morning is the best way to prioritize our day. As we listen and wait patiently for His instruction we align ourselves with His will not ours. Let's do our very best to put God first in everything we do.
