Nourishment of Kind Words

Kind words are like honey - sweet to the soul and healthy for the body - Proverbs 16:24.

Are you looking for some nourishment? I believe it is something we all need. I want to give you some tiny morsels to nibble on. Everyone loves something sweet especially if it is freely given to you. I want to encourage you with the sweetest kindest words from the Lord. When we read the Scriptures of instruction they provide wisdom which is sweet to the soul. These kind words will promote strength, endurance, and nourishment to our souls.

When we hear kind words being spoken to us it changes our thought process. Our mind is being nourished with positivity and ultimately our thoughts and attitudes change. An encouraging word cheers a person up (Proverbs 12:25). Especially when we hear the right words at the right time; when we need it the most.

Most importantly I want you to know that you are loved. Scripture tells us in 1 John 3:1: How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God, and that is what we are! God's love for you is the deepest expression of love that you will ever experience. He always has and always will love you. He is constantly pouring out His love on you just as you are; right where you are. He is a God of compassion and mercy. He is filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. Nothing can separate us from God's love! When we are filled with the love of God we can do things such as overcome fear, endure pain, forgive quickly, and feel strengthened when we are weak. I will leave you with these tidbits about love. There is so much more to be said about love, but I will let you fill up on the Word of God according to your favorite verses.

If you are afraid sit back and relax while you chew on these sweet words. For I hold you by your right hand - I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, "Don't be afraid. I am here to help you" Isaiah 41:13. This is my go to Scripture: For God has not given me (when you change the word us to me it becomes more personal) a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline 1 Timothy 1:7. The devil wants you to cower down and live in fear. Don't listen to him! Refresh you memory with the sweet words from the Lord who will always be with you helping you to become a powerful warrior.

Do you need comfort? Maybe you have recently lost a loved one, you are on the verge of a divorce or experiencing broken relationships, and just maybe you have done all you know to do to help someone only to feel helpless. The list goes on and on. Well beware don't run to the pint of ice cream, cookies and cakes. This is not going to bring you the comfort you need! Instead, take several bites of God's sweet words. All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort - 2 Corinthians 1:3. These are sweet words that I rely on: He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow] Psalm 147:3 (AMP).

Do you need healing? I can spend a lot of time on the healing verses and I love to chew on them savoring the power of each one. It is nourishing to read about all the miraculous healing performed by Jesus Christ. If you are overwhelmed by an illness, suffering from depression, or maybe have a mental illness don't give up; keep on fighting and savor the Word of God which is your source of help. Have compassion on me, Lord, for I am weak. Heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony - Psalm 6:2. The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health - Psalm 41:3. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases - Psalm 103:3. There are over a hundred Bible verses about healing so I am sure you will be fully satisfied as you continue to read them.

How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey - Psalm 119:103.
