Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30:5b
Every single one of us will experience the loss of a friend or loved one during the course of our life. I just lost a friend a few days ago so I know the heartache it causes even as I write this. There are so many emotions we go through and it is is important that deal with these rather than bottle them up. I was talking to a friend yesterday and it is hard to believe that she is gone. We both wanted to cry but couldn't.
I did remind her of this verse and we know that one morning we will wake up and experience joy. When thinking about Jesus dying on the cross He spent a day in darkness so He knows how we are feeling during this dark time. He is close to the broken-hearted! Easter morning when He was resurrected there was so much joy they couldn't contain it. For us this day will not come today or next week. It might not come next month, and maybe not even next year. It varies for each individual, but the truth is that this too shall pass and that morning of joy will come.
The joy we will experience comes from the Lord. We will celebrate the fact that those who have gone before us are in heaven and have eternal life. We will be reunited and see our loved one's again. Even when we are in the midst of pain we can still choose joy and remember all the good times.
As I am getting ready to come to a close I just wanted to give you some hope my friends. We don't need to see this as a final good-bye, but rather a see ya later. I know you will need time to mourn; we all do. Just know that God is always with you and will see you through this difficult time. Think about when He has done this before and know He is sure to do it again.
