Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ( James 1:22, NKJV)
If you want to grow and become more mature spiritually you might need to make some changes. I cannot stress how important it is to live by the Word of God. Take this blog for example. I know I am supposed to reach others through my writing. As I have said before we are His messengers. I have noticed that this blog might seem harsh at times, I would prefer to use the term direct and straightforward.
Going to church every Sunday, listening to Christian radio stations, watching Christian movies, and reading the Word of God is a great way to gain knowledge. Here is where I probably step on some toes. Gaining head knowledge is good and learning to quote scripture is great, but that is not going to change us.
This is what will change us and draw us closer to God. His Word is alive and active and we need to let that get rooted deep down into our souls. This is because we need to allow the Word to change us from the inside out.
"Spiritual growth is the result of practicing the truth you receive from God." Charles Stanley
Now with that being said let's do our best to put into practice the truth we are learning from God's Word.
My journal today went with my devotion which was James 4:7 but in the devotion it broke down the word humble in greek which one word used was submit 💞. So when I read your blog and it says be doers of the Word not hearers only. It matched my journal! Lord help me submit my life to you💞 Great Word Leslie!
