God's Unfailing Love

For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:11-12

The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. (vs.8)

I want you to know that no matter what we have done the Lord loves us. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. ( see Romans 8:35-39) When we do something terribly wrong we tend to think, how can God love us. It is because of His unfailing love. He shows us compassion and mercy, for He knows how weak we are. We have all fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

He is slow to anger and has forgiven us of our sins past, present, and future. He has cast them as far as the east is from the west. How far is that? Just as far wide as his love is (which I will get to shortly). He doesn't hold grudges like we do at times. He doesn't punish is for our sins or deal harshly with us, as we deserve.

However, He will correct and discipline us just as a father corrects a child. This is because He loves us so much and only wants the best for us. After all, if there is no discipline there is no love. Sometimes He will convict us (never condemn us), but only because He wants us to change our ways. He wants us to live up to our full potential.

Unfailing love is a love that will last forever. His love reaches to the heavens, stretches further than the world as we know it and into space where no man has ever been able to explore. This is how far He casts our sins. His love reaches down to the depths of the sea. His love is higher, wider, and deeper than we can perceive.

Paul's prayer to the Ephesians and us too regarding the appreciation of the mystery of God's love. That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height - to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. For the full prayer ( see Ephesians 3:14-21).

I hope you take the time to look up the verses in parenthesis and as you read them you feel the love of God being poured out upon you.
