For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:13
I think it is amazing how God works in us by giving us the desire to act with intention according to His will. When God moves our heart we have the desire to be obedient and do what pleases Him. We are unable to do this in our own strength because of our flesh. However, the power of God is working us. This is hard for some to believe so I will say it again. God is working in you and I giving us the power to do what pleases Him.
There are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all - 1 Corinthians 12:6 (NKJV). Meaning there is a variety of ways for us to serve the Lord. The spiritual gifts vary as well and the Spirit decides which gift each person should have and distributes all these gifts. God's power is operating in us and our spiritual gifts will produce results that are obvious.
But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me - and not without results. Paul said for I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace. (1 Corinthians 15:10) I love how Paul doesn't take any credit for the work he does and always gives all the Glory to God.
I feel the need to admit last year I let pride get the better of me and some of the teachings I presented and the works I did were all about me. Knowing better I had to ask for God to forgive me. It is all about God working in me and like Paul I will give God all the glory. I need to make several changes this year and I want to be a humble servant because God not not like a haughty spirit filled with arrogance.
We are only able to do the things we do by the desire and power given to us by God so we are able to do what pleases Him. To God be the glory!
