Giving Thanks

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34 (NKJV)

When you take the time to give thank to God today I am sure you will thank Him for what He has done for you and others. I know I did! Let's also take the time to thank Him for who He is. Thank Him for always being available; His omnipresence (the ability to be present everywhere the same time). Thank Him for His power; His omnipotence (having unlimited power, able to accomplish anything). Thank Him for knowing us better than we know ourselves; His omniscience (all knowing). Thank Him for being supremely good; His omnibenevolence (perfect unlimited goodness).

God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. He always remains the same. When we are going through a difficult time we tend to question if God is good. I do this at times too, but why would we ever question anything He does when we know who He is? I believe even when we are being attacked we can still know that He is good. I believe something better is being planned and a great destiny awaits us; something even better than we could ever imagine. God always works everything out for our good, and will carry us through all of life's difficulties.

The Lord is merciful, He is our shelter; a strong refuge, our deliverer, our defender, and our healer. He is our peace, strength when we are weak, and our joy. The list goes on and on. I could also remind you of His many names and what that means to us. I will leave that up to you.

I will leave you with one last verse. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. Psalm 100:5

Today let's not only tell God we are thankful and what we are thankful for. Let's show Him we are thankful by also praising His name and lifting His name on high.

I hope you have a very blessed Thanksgiving!!!
