Fear of the Lord

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever! Psalm 111:10

The fear of the Lord is being in awe of Him, having reverence (deep respect), showing Him our love, and trusting Him. This also includes being obedient; submitting to the commands of His word. Just as the foundation is the beginning of a strong structure being built on; The Lord is our foundation and the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom which will build us up.

The word teaches us how to fear the Lord and we can find this teaching in Psalms 34. I recommend you read this for yourself when you are able to do so. This is the strategy that He revealed to me. 1. Come and listen and I will teach you to fear the Lord (Psalm 34:11). We need to come to Him first and listen to this teaching. 2. Taste and see that the Lord is good (vs.8). Meditate (chew on the word) take the time to taste and see He is our greatest teacher then digest it (letting it all soak in). 3. Fear the Lord (vs. 9). Put all that is explained above including what Psalms 34 teaches us into action. 4. Keep your tongue from speaking evil (vs. 12). For example do not lie, gossip, or use foul language. Speak truth and life. 5. Turn from evil and search for peace (vs. 13) When we turn from evil we turn to what is good and by searching for peace we find God who uses the Holy Spirit who helps us maintain the peace.

Fear God and obey His commands, for this is everyone's duty (Ecclesiastes 12:13). We will continue to grow in wisdom giving God all the honor and glory. Praising His name forever!
