Exchanging Weakness for Strength

Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).

There are so many reasons we become weary and I will just name a few. Some people become exhausted because they take on too much work such as working two jobs. When we do too much physically we grow tired quickly and if we don't rest we become exhausted. Overthinking can cloud our thoughts and when our minds are racing we tend to get stuck on overload. Worrying is thinking about the worst case scenario which wears us out mentally. Before you know it you are carrying the weight of the world and that is way too much to be carrying around.

These are the times we need to turn to God. He is so powerful and mighty in strength. He never grows weary or weak. He sees you carrying those heavy burdens and wants you to take those burdens and give them to Him. He wants you to exchange your weakness for His strength. When you are feeling weak and powerless He gives us one simple instruction. "Come to Me and I will give you rest." He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless (Isaiah 40:29).

What are you putting your hope in today? I hope it is the Lord. This is what happens when we put our trust in the Lord. Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and now grow weary. They will walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).
