Bear the Burdens of Others

Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

I have people in my life who share my burdens and now it my time to do the same for others. God is the One who makes our burdens light as we bring our burdens to Him and lay them down at His feet.

Last night my roommate and I helped others out and stayed up late in doing so. We didn't talk much about the problems but simply showed them some love. This morning when I woke up I was thinking about the first Bible verse I learned. It was, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Soon after I got up we hit our knees and prayed for them. I haven't even read which is part of my morning routine, but as I opened up my email to read something this verse was the first thing I saw and might I add I love how the Holy Spirit works.

Verse one tells us that a person who falls into sin at a vulnerable point should be spiritually restored with gentleness. This is very important because being gentle with them is the key to building that trust with them and showing them that they are loved. If we were to judge them or ridicule them that would only make things worse.

Verse two tells us The person whose life is controlled by the Holy Spirit is to come alongside and help bear (Gk. bastazo; to "carry, endure") the physical, emotional, or spiritual burden threatening to crush his fellow believers. The law of Christ is "love your neighbor as yourself."

Today the Holy Spirit not only worked in my life, but in and through one of the people we are trying to help. God thank you for answering our prayer this morning!!!

22But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

This is why I love the Holy Spirit so much! He is only capable of producing this kind of fruit in our lives: in us, through us and around us! AMEN

Replying to

Amen. I read the same verse about the fruits of the Spirit and it is the gentleness from the Spirit who works through us. I alone am not capable of expressing the fruit without the Holy Spirit.
