The Resurrection

He isn't here! He is risen from the dead, just as He said would happen. Come, see where His body was lying. - Matthew 28:6

Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdelene and the other Mary went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. ( Luke 24:1) On the way they were asking each other, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?" (Mark 16:3) The answer can be found in Matthew 28:2-4 which states as follows. Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. (Matthew 28:2) As they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside. (Mark 16:4)

Then the angel spoke to the women. "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn't here! He is risen from the dead, just as He said would happen. Come, see where His body was lying. (Matthew 28:5-6 Jesus is alive! He has resurrection power! He has conquered the grave!

Before Jesus ascended into heaven He wanted the apostles to know they would not be alone. He told them His Father would send them the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit resides in us and gives us the same resurrection power. The power to die to self and arise a new being.

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is by His great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance - an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by His power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. (1Peter 1:3-5)

Jesus has gone to prepare a place for you and I hope you will be ready for His return. My friends this is the best news ever. We will ascend into heaven where we have eternal life! This is why we celebrate.

If you have never said the prayer of salvation and want to do so today you have to confess with your mouth. Just say this out loud. Lord, I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I am asking you to forgive me of my sins. I believe you died for my sins and rose on the third day so I can have eternal life. I invite you into my life. I will trust and follow you all the days of my life. In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen. If you just said this prayer for the first time the angels are rejoicing over you right now.
