God Will Fight For You

If you are fighting a battle; it is not your fight. The battle belongs to the Lord and the victory is already won. The truth is without the help from our Lord it is impossible to win a war. It is the Lords power and strength that achieves victory on our behalf. It is mentioned many times that God will fight for you. Many times God would tell the people prepared for battle that He had already gone before them by saying things like, "I have given into your hand" or "I have handed him over to you." These are just a few examples of what He would say before a battle. Knowing the victory is already won!

When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God lead them in a round about way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea. Thus the Israelites left Egypt like an army ready for battle. - Exodus 13:18 The Israelites left Succoth and camped at Etham on the edge of the wilderness. The Lord went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night. (vs.21)

Then the Lord gave these instructions to Moses: Order the Israelites to turn back and camp by Pi-hahiroth between Migdol and the sea. Camp there along the shore, across from Baal - zephon. This was so Pharaoh would think the Israelites were confused. The Lord would once again harden the heart of Pharaoh so he would chase the Israelites. This was the Lords plan in order to display His glory. ( Exodus 14:1-4)

As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the Lord, and they said to Moses, "Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren't there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Didn't we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, 'leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It's better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!'" But Moses told the people, "Don't be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm." Exodus 14:10-13

We all know what happened next. The Red Sea was parted and once the Israelites reached the other side the waters returned drowning their enemies. All they had to do was listen to the instructions and obey them. Exodus 14:31 says: When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before Him. They put their faith in the Lord and in His servant Moses.

If you are facing a battle remember the Lord goes before you and He will fight for you knowing the victory is already won! Receive it and believe it by putting your faith in God.

AMEN! In the New Testament the Lord says you must only believe! I bring myself back to that when I am overwhelmed with life. He is so good to us. And calling on the Holy Spirit to strengthen us is not used enough. But He made a tremendous change in me. And so willing to help any and every time we call on Him. 🙏🏽💞
