Cast Your Cares

Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. 1Peter 5:7

Take all of your stress, tension, anxiety - along with everything you are worried about and cast your cares onto the shoulders of God. We aren't meant to carry all of these burdens by ourselves. I know someone who can and He has the broad shoulder to carry them all - God. Before you read any further I would like for you to picture God's broad shoulders and how strong they are. If He can hold the world in His hand just think about how much He can carry on His shoulders. All of your cares and mine too. Now picture yourself taking one thing that your worried about and throwing it upon His shoulders. Now take another and throw it, then another until you have casted everything upon His shoulder.

In the girls life application study Bible there is a list of seven reasons not to worry and it is my pleasure to share them with you.

  1. The same God who created life in you can be trusted with the details of your life.

  2. Worrying about the future keeps you from doing your best today.

  3. Worrying is more harmful than helpful.

  4. God does not ignore those who depend on Him.

  5. Worry shows a lack of faith and of understanding of God.

  6. There are real challenges God wants us to pursue, and worrying keeps us from them.

  7. Living one day at a time keeps us from worrying too much.

Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7,NKJV

Prayer is the antidote for all of our worries. In response to our prayers the peace of God brings power to endure. The peace calms a troubling situation when explanations fail. (Holman study Bible)

Now that we have lightened the load by casting all our cares onto the shoulders of God don't you feel like the weight of the world has been lifted? I certainly hope so! I know I do. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and the peace within us comes from the Holy Spirit. We are surrounded by the tranquility of the Spirit of God. Lord let everyone feel the presence of your peace! Our Father loves us and takes such good care of us.
